Steve Ellul grew up and lives in Zejtun.

Steve graduated with an Honors Degree in Banking and Finance and continued his studies with a Masters in Corporate Finance at the European University. Afterwards, Steve became a Chartered Financial Analyst, a certificate of excellence in the sector issued by the CFA Institute in Charlottesville, United States.

Steve is a vociferous proponent of the utilisation of financial capital to accelerate the transition of Malta and Europe’s economy towards decarbonisation.

For many years he held key positions in Malta’s largest financial institution where he was responsible for the management of Maltese and international investments including the United States, the United Kingdom and the Middle East.

In his consultancy role, Steve contributed significantly to the promotion of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles in Malta, influencing numerous businesses to invest in environmental sustainability and social development. Additionally, he spearheaded the Maltese Labour Party’s economic forum within the 100 IDEA programme, resulting in proposals now integral to the Labour Government’s Electoral Program.

In 2023, Steve Ellul assumed the role of CEO at Project Green, where he initiated impactful environmental projects in San Gwann and Bormla. Steve’s leadership secured a EUR8.5 million package in European funds for Project Green, earmarked for renowned parks in Fgura, Naxxar, Cottonera, Benghajsa, and others.

Steve Ellul is 38 years old, married to Marisianne and has two daughters, Aurora and Francesca.
